Generate a regulatory product report in Word format

Create a Word (.docx) product report that covers nutritional calculations, warning seal assessments, and Colombian regulatory references with your signature.

The Word report is SATN’s most comprehensive export. It produces a .docx file that documents not just the nutritional values of a product, but the full regulatory context: the calculation methodology, the applicable warning seals, the relevant Colombian resolutions, and — if you have configured it — your digital signature. This makes it suitable for client deliverables, regulatory submissions, and internal compliance records.

Accessing the export

1. Open the product list

   Go to Productos in the main menu.

2. Find your product

   Locate the product you want to report on using the search field or by browsing the list.

3. Download the Word report

   Click the Exportar Informe button (document icon) in the product’s row. The browser downloads the file immediately.

The file is saved with a name based on the product name (for example, informe_galleta-de-avena.docx).

What the report contains

The Word document is organized into three sections:

Section 1 — Introduction and calculation methodology

The first section of the document serves as a cover letter or technical introduction. It includes:

• The date the report was generated
• The client name and product name
• The product’s declared presentation (unit, net weight, serving size)
• An explanation of the calculation method used: SATN applies a mass balance approach, multiplying each ingredient’s weight in the recipe by the corresponding nutritional values from the ICBF food composition table, then summing across all ingredients
• References to the regulatory framework that governs the label: Resolución 254 de 2023 (nutritional labeling) and Resolución 810 de 2021 (warning seals)

Section 2 — Warning seal assessment

The second section lists each of the five possible warning seals defined by Resolución 254/2023 and states whether the product triggers each one, along with the supporting calculation. If a seal applies, the document includes the corresponding official seal image.

The seals evaluated are: Sodio, Azúcares, Grasas saturadas, Grasas trans, and Edulcorantes. For the full criteria used to determine each seal, see Regulatory warning seals.

Section 3 — Regulatory reference tables

The third section provides documentary evidence of the regulatory basis for the label. It includes:

• Images of the nutrient limit tables from Resolución 254/2023, showing the thresholds used to evaluate warning seals
• Official seal dimension requirements as specified in the regulation
• Your digital signature, if you have uploaded one in your account settings

This section is particularly useful when submitting the report to a client or authority that requires proof of the regulatory source.

Digital signature

If you have configured a digital signature image in your account settings, SATN automatically includes it on the regulatory reference page of every report you generate. To add or update your signature, go to your account profile and upload an image file in the signature field.

The digital signature is an image inclusion, not a cryptographic signature. It serves as a professional endorsement on the document but does not constitute a legally binding electronic signature under Colombian e-commerce law.

Regulatory framework

The Word report is designed to meet the documentation requirements arising from:

• Resolución 254 de 2023 — Sets nutritional labeling requirements for packaged food products sold in Colombia, including the mandatory front-of-pack warning seal system.
• Resolución 810 de 2021 — Establishes the technical criteria and thresholds for warning seals on food and beverage products.
